Alianza Agricola (UPDATE 2025)
Alianza Agricola was profiled in Lepanto’s original 2022 report, which reported its membership in the Food Chain Workers Alliance (FCWA), a coalition explicitly forbidden by CCHD grant guidelines due to FCWA’s radical pro-abortion and pro-LGBT advocacy. Lepanto also noted that FCWA dues financially support the coalition’s activities, deepening the conflict with Catholic moral teaching.
The last national CCHD grant Alianza Agricola received came during the 2022–2023 cycle. It has not received national CCHD funding since. We include Alianza in the recent CCHD grantee report because the CCHD refused to publish its grants list for three full years – including the 2022-2023 grants list – until December of 2024.

Current Status
Alianza Agricola remains active, though it has a modest public presence. The organization continues to post sporadically on social media, with a final X post in June 2025 and scattered Facebook activity, including posts as recent as this month. Their online footprint is minimal and shows no new public policy actions that directly expand upon the issues documented in the original report.
Crucially, Alianza Agricola has not withdrawn from the Food Chain Workers Alliance. As of the FCWA’s current membership roster (2025), the group remains listed as an active member.
This was the central issue in Lepanto’s 2022 report: CCHD’s rules forbid funding organizations that join coalitions that advocate for positions directly opposed to Catholic moral teaching. FCWA openly supports abortion, same-sex marriage, and broader political causes rooted in a liberationist, anti-Catholic framework. Alianza Agricola’s continued participation indicates no ideological shift.
Alianza Agricola has not received CCHD funding since the 2022–2023 cycle. The organization remains active but minimally visible, and it continues to be a member of the Food Chain Workers Alliance, the coalition that originally disqualified it from Catholic funding. The concerns raised in Lepanto’s 2022 report remain fully intact, and the group’s ideological alignment has not changed.

Alianza Agricola received its first ever grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) of $45,000 for the 2020-2021 grants cycle.
In violation of CCHD grant guidelines, Alianza Agricola is a member of a radically pro-abortion organization.
The CCHD absolutely forbids organizations from membership in organizations acting against Catholic teaching. In an FAQ on the USCCB website, the CCHD directly answers the question about whether grantees may be members of coalitions that oppose Catholic teachings. In answer, the CCHD firmly stated, “CCHD will not fund groups that are knowingly members of coalitions that have as part of their organizational purpose or coalition agenda, positions or actions that contradict fundamental Catholic moral and social teaching.”
Alianza Agricola is a member of the Food Chain Workers Alliance.
This relationship also includes financial support. According to the Food Chain Workers Alliance’s most recent tax form 990, the organization does indeed collect dues from its members. And the Food Chain Workers Alliance has taken formal positions regarding same-sex “marriage,” and abortion.
On June 26, 2015, the Food Chain Workers Alliance celebrated the SCOTUS decision on same-sex “marriage.”
Even more egregiously, just this year, after the Dobbs V. Jackson decision that overturned Roe V. Wade, FCWA issued a formal statement on the SCOTUS ruling, saying,
“We are outraged by the U.S. Supreme Court’s brazen agenda to disempower our communities while expanding the reach of corporations and the carceral state. SCOTUS rulings of the past year have protected the interests of the corporate class while stripping away our rights to bodily autonomy, privacy, and reproductive choice;”
Concomitant with that, FCWA retweeted a statement that overturning Roe is an indication that “SCOTUS is in it to kill (us).”
Conclusion
In direct violation of CCHD grant guidelines, Alianza Agricola is a member of a radically pro-abortion organization called the Food Chain Workers Alliance.
