CCHD Funding Marijuana Farm Development

fast times blog copy

It should be clear to those Catholics who have been paying attention that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) really has no scruples about the philosophies, activities, and beliefs of the organizations it funds, so long as its grantees at least give the appearance of “doing some good.”  This has resulted in millions of dollars going to organizations aligned with Planned Parenthood, organizations that profess and promote Communism, and organizations run by facilitators of same-sex marriage.  At this point, it’s almost automatically expected that the CCHD would unapologetically fund organizations such as these.  But then, there are those times when the CCHD throws a curve-ball and funds an organization doing something unexpected … like helping to start marijuana farm cooperatives.

CCCD logoEnter the California Center for Cooperative Development.  Just this past year, the CCHD gave the California Center $50,000 for their community organizing efforts.  As we investigated the California Center, we knew there was something wrong right off the bat when we discovered that its executive director funded a same-sex “marriage” campaign in California.  That alone was enough to earn it a profile on the Lepanto Institute website.  But we needed to look a little deeper, and its own annual report from 2010 provided a list of the types of organizations it helped get started.  Among the various types of organizations the California Center assisted are “Medical Marijuana Cooperatives.”CCCD 3

The California Center for Cooperative Development’s interest in helping marijuana farming coops was not a one-shot deal, either.  It’s facebook page illustrated its ongoing interest in assisting marijuana farming cooperatives.

It could be that those responsible for the CCHD’s “rigorous vetting process” are just dazed and confused.  Or, perhaps their computer screens went up in smoke whenever they tried to read stuff on the California Center for Cooperative Development’s website.  Whatever the trouble, it’s obvious that the reefer madness being perpetrated by this organization is opening the way for Fast Times at CCHD High.

Michael praying for you as you devote your life to your faith. Please never cease in your battle to expose the devil within our Beloved Church. Without the passion of those like yourself I truly wonder if in fact there would be no hope. God Bless you and your beautiful family as you accept the role that God has asked of you. A true disciple.

    Blessings,
    Jane E. Petry
