CCHD Grantee Agitation Can Result in Dead Cops

There is an extremely fundamental flaw in the model of community organizing funded by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development. When so much emphasis is placed on hyperbole, rhetoric, and agitation, the end result is always anarchy, destruction, and even death. Such is the most recent case in New York.

Two days ago, a gunman executed two police officers for the mere “crime” of wearing a police uniform. The shooter posted a picture of a gun on Instagram, writing, “I’m putting wings on pigs today. They take 1 of ours, let’s take 2 of theirs #ShootThePolice #RIPEricGardner #RIPMikeBrown I’m Putting Pigs in a Blanket.” Clearly, this was a revenge killing based upon the agitation stirred up against police officers for the deaths of Michael Brown and Eric Gardner.

The intent of this post is not to get into the specifics about why or how Michael Brown and Eric Gardner died, who was responsible for their deaths, and whether the police were justified in their actions or not. Rather, it is important to investigate what inspired a gunman to kill two men.

Clearly, the motive was revenge. But the assailant never personally knew either of the people he claimed to be avenging. So, why would he feel so strongly about killing police officers over the deaths of two people he never knew? The answer is agitation. Political agitation is a powerful weapon, and this killer is merely acting out the emotional frenzy instigated by community organizing groups; community organizing groups such as those funded by the Catholic Church.

We’ve already reported on the Northwest Bronx Community and Clergy Coalition, which received $35,000 from the CCHD for this current fiscal year. But even though they are actively promoting communist Marxism and homosexuality, with the apparent blessing of the National CCHD and the Archdiocese of New York, the USCCB must now consider that two men are dead because of the sort of race-baiting agitation and anti-police sentiment instigated by this organization.

On December 18, Northwest Bronx Community & Clergy Coalition and its program called Sistas and Brothas United helped organize a march against “police brutality.” While it is right and good to remain vigilant against a potentially ever-growing police state and abuse of powers, it should never agitate emotional fervor to the point of retaliation, but that’s exactly what this kind of organizing does.

First of all, it isn’t by accident that NWBCCC’s twitter logo sports the clenched fist of socialism.  As pointed out in our profile on NWBCCC, the organization has close ties to organized communism.  It’s also important to understand that the communists have always used agitation and riots in order to destabilize as a means of weakening morale, moral resolve, and resistance to communist encroachment.

But take a look at the agitation enacted by NWBCCC and its project SBU, stirring anti-police sentiment and calling for retaliation.

By repeating the mantras, “don’t shoot” and “I can’t breathe” while calling out police brutality and demanding “justice,” organizations like NWBCCC and SBU create a sense of hopelessness and vigilantism in individuals around them.  They encourage people to “band together” and “rise up” against what they perceive to be a systemic problem of injustice.  And while they claim that they are doing these things against “violence,” how can they expect that an increased emotional outpouring based upon these sentiments would not spark violent outrage among their target audience?  The truth is, this kind of agitation is precisely what led to the deaths of two police officers … and it is precisely this kind of activity that is funded and encouraged by the Catholic Campaign for Human Development.
