Common Good Missoula

Common Good Montana:

Common Good Montana received its first ever CCHD grant in the 2025-2026 fiscal year for $35,000. The problem with this organization is centered around its very identity as a 501 (c3) tax exempt organization and its almost indistinguishable relationship with a 501 (c4) political action group.  While Common Good Montana and Common Good Missoula have separate tax ID numbers, they share the same physical address, the same PO Box, and while Common Good Missoula (the c4 organization) has a rather active public appearance, there is no such activity for Common Good Montana.  From all outward appearances, there is no difference between the two organizations, and the 501 c3 (Common Good Montana) is being used merely as a means of collecting tax-exempt funding to further the operations of Common Good Missoula (the c4).  And given the shared mailbox and the shared operating space, the case is made that they also share the same ideologies.  And the issue is that Common Good Missoula/Common Good Montana openly promotes LGBTQ ideologies both directly and by its own staff.

The Common Good Missoula facebook page identifies it with the website (commongoodmissoula.org) and the PO Box 7436.  This is the same PO Box Address Common Good Montana provided on its ONLY filed tax form 990, which was from 2022.

Even more interesting is that both Common Good Missoula (c4) and Common Good Montana (c3) received their tax-exempt status letters from the IRS within the same week, listing the same exact physical address.  Common Good Missoula’s letter came on 11 November 2022.  And Common Good Montana’s letter came on 17 November 2022.

Additionally, the Chief Executive Officer for Common Good Montana is the same person as the Lead Organizer for Common Good Missoula.  Lisa Davey identifies both positions on her linkedin account.  She simultaneously served as the Director of Organizing for the Missoula Interfaith Collaborative – more on them in a bit.  It’s worth noting here that she claims to have held all three positions “full time” at the same time, which would prevent ANY differentiation of time served working for any of those three, one at a time.

The connections between Common Good Montana and Common Good Missoula doesn’t end there.  As it turns out, the board members for Common Good Montana work for the member organizations of Common Good Missoula.  The board of directors listed for Common Good Montana in the only tax-form 990 they ever filed are Lisa Beczkiewicz, Chair; Bob Oaks, Vice Chair; Skye McGinty, Secretary; D’Shane Barnett, Treasurer; Amy Krzyzek and Becca Go.

Each of these board members is directly tied to Common Good Missoula.

  • Lisa Beczkiewicz — Health Promotion Manager and Missoula Invest Health team lead at Missoula Public Health.  Missoula Public Health is on CG Missoula’s current member list.
  • D’Shane Barnett — Former executive director of All Nations Health Center and featured speaker at Common Good Missoula’s May 19, 2022 founding celebration.  All Nations Health Center is a dues-paying member of Common Good Missoula.
  • Skye McGinty — Became All Nations executive director in June 2021 after Barnett resigned.  McGinty was the clinic’s public face during CG Missoula’s incorporation year.
  • Amy Krzyzek — Program Development Manager at Partnership Health Center, another member of Common Good Missoula.
  • Rebecca Go — Chief Innovations Officer at Partnership Health Center
  • Bob Oaks — (deceased) Founder of North Missoula Community Development Corporation, which was listed as a member at the time of Common Good Missoula’s founding.

These organizations – except for North Missoula Community Development Corporation – are prominently displayed on CG Missoula’s website, showing a clear and common link between the two organziations.

Now enters the third organization connected to Common Good Montana, and that is (as mentioned above) the Missoula Interfaith Collaborative (MIC), which is the parent project from which both Common Good corporations originated.

Missoula Interfaith Collaborative lists the exact same street address on its tax form 990 as Common Good Montana and Common Good Missoula.

On MIC’s website, it identifies Common Good Missoula as a project that it “launched.”

And perhaps the tie that binds it all together is the fact that MIC was provided a “substantial ‘seed’ grant from the Catholic Campaign for Human Development” after it was founded in 2013.  CCHD’s records show that MIC received nine grants between 2014 and 2024, totaling $480,000.

SUMMARY

The reason all of this background is important is to illustrate that there is no discernable difference – outside of specifically-identified personnel and tax IDs – between Common Good Montana, Common Good Missoula, and Missoula Interfaith Coalition.  MIC received a series of CCHD grants beginning in 2014, and it was through MIC that CG Missoula was formed, and CG Missoula is the 501 c4 political organization associated with CG Montana, which is an apparently inactive 501 c3.  All three organizations share the same physical address, they share the same personnel in Lisa Davey, they share common goals and activities, they travel in the same circles, and two of the three are recipients of CCHD funds.  Needless to say, all three organizations – due to the clear overlap – most certainly also share the same ideologies and advocacy, even if the specific people involved have to switch out which logo they wear on their hats while doing it.

One last note on the background here is very important – Common Ground Montana lost its tax exempt status on 15 May of 2026 for failing to file a tax form 990 for three consecutive years.

The reason this is important is because the CCHD requires all grant applicants to provide copies of the most recent tax form 990.  The CCHD’s own guide for grant applicants says:

CCHD grant applicants will also supply a copy of their most recently filed IRS 990 tax return. For smaller organizations, this serves as a substitute for an  audit; for larger organizations, it serves as a cross-check as well as supplies a few more financial details that are not typically in an audit.

Had the application process been followed properly, the CCHD would have known as soon as the application was filed that the organization was in danger of losing its tax-exempt status.  Yet, the CCHD chose to supply the grant anyway.  But this situation leads to the question: “Why didn’t Common Good Montana file its tax form 990 for three years?”

The short answer is, “we don’t know.”  However, what we do know is that the only penalty for not filing with the IRS for three years is the revocation of the tax exempt status for the organization.  Perhaps one explanation is that the c3 organization – Common Good Montana – was established for the express purpose of collecting funds (including grants such as those supplied by the CCHD) so that such funds could fuel the c4 (Common Good Missoula) operation.  And by refusing to file for three consecutive years, the c3 could simply hide that funding activity knowing that the tax exempt status would run out due to failure to file, and without a public footprint, it would simply be assumed that the organization was one of many start-up c3 organizations that failed and went under.  This would prevent it from public scrutiny and potentially hide it from being investigated.

Without an examination of the books, it is impossible to say, but from the outside looking in, this looks an awful lot like a financial shell game run with CCHD  backing.

The Evidence

Because Common Good Montana has no public presence, and Common Good Missoula frequently identifies itself with Common Good Montana, we will be treating Common Good Missoula as if it is either the same organization or ideologically linked to it.  We will also include activities conducted by Missoula Interfaith Coalition, which shares the same location, leadership and a common history with the other two.

In the About Us section on the CG Missoula website, CGM blatantly states that many of its staff are openly LGBTQIA+.

CGM’s Facebook has multiple posts advocating LGBTQ ideologies and promotions for LGBTQ events.

On March 30, 2021, CGM co-hosted a “Queer Organizing Kickoff” event with the Western Montana LGBTQ+ Community Center.  This event, in their words, was intended for “reaching out within networks of queer folx and finding out what is important to them.” The event announcement stated:

“If you care about queer rights, identify as LGBTQIA+, and have wanted to get involved in making Missoula and Western Montana a more queer-friendly place, this is a meeting you don’t want to miss.”

CGM actually created the event itself on Facebook on 24 March 2021.

On March 31, 2021, CGM posted that they would be brainstorming “what Missoula could do to be a safer and/or more queer-friendly community.”

On 20 May 2022, the Western Montana LGBTQ+ Community Center announced that it “is #proud to be a member organization” of CGM.

Leaderhip and Staff

As indicated above, Lisa Davey simultaneously served as the Lead Organizer for CG Missoula, the CEO of CG Montana, and the Director of Organizing for Missoula Interfaith Collaborative.  Her social media is replete with support for abortion and LGBT ideologies.

In January of 2018, Davey co-created an online “event” page for the Women’s March in Missoula, which declared:

“We must create a society in which women – including Black women, Native women, poor women, immigrant women, disabled women, Muslim women, lesbian queer and trans women – are free and able to care for and nurture their families, however they are formed, in safe and healthy environments free from structural impediments. This march promotes Reproductive Rights, LGBTQIA Rights, Worker’s Rights, Civil Rights, Disability Rights, and Immigrant Rights.”

On January 12, 2018, on the discussion page for this event, Davey advertised a “Roe V. Wade Anniversary Comedy Benefit,” raising funds for Planned Parenthood and the Susan Wickland Fund, which is currently known as the Montana Abortion Access Program.

Davey also reposted a Planned Parenthood Action Fund X post from February 5, 2019, which argued that Trump’s State of the Union speech was “pedaling” a misinformed anti-abortion agenda, due to his addressing the issue of late-term abortions, which, as of 2026, are legal in nine states.

She also reposted a claim that same day that pro-life initiatives led to an HIV “pandemic.”

On 26 April 2026, Davey expressed support for “Zooey Zephyr,” a man named Zachary Raasch who identifies as transgender, and former member of the Montana House of Representatives. Raasch was barred from the floor in the Montana House of Representatives after breaching decorum while discussing Senate Bill 99, the sole purpose of which was “prohibiting certain medical and surgical treatments to treat minors with gender dysphoria,” according to the Montana state government website. He stated that Republicans would have blood on their hands if they restricted this “gender-affirming care” for children, according to NPR. Davey refers to Raasch’s removal as a decision made as a result of “ideologically based hate.”

on 23 June 2017, Davey posted a picture of herself on Instagram at a drag show at the Stonewall Inn.

On February 16, 2017 (link no longer available), Davey also posted a video of her child dancing around while wearing an LGBTQ Pride flag as a cape. She captioned the video, “When you just can’t hide your pride,” implying she is actively exposing her child to the LGBTQ ideology and LGBTQ influences.

on 1 June 2023, Lisa Davey donated funds to a Facebook fundraiser made by the CG Missoula treasurer, Damian Begay, for the Western Montana Gay and Lesbian Community Center – the same LGBT institution that participated in the launch of CG Missoula in 2022.

D’Shane Barnett, CG Montana’s treasurer, changed his name in May of 2023 to Damian Chase-Begay is a man, and in October of 2020 he “married” another man, as shown in this post from October 31, 2025.

Furthermore, Begay posted on June 21 of 2016, about his affiliation with the University of California, San Francisco, which apparently focuses on “helping young people navigate gender identity.”

On September 11, 2016, Begay made a Facebook post, paying homage to transgender activist “Alexis” Arquette, who passed away in 2016, calling him a “social pioneer.”

Susan Mason is the Associate Community Organizer for CGM, and her public activities are quite supportive of abortion.

On July 30, 2024, Mason shared a post in which she, after reading through The Heritage Foundation’s Project 2025, said, “If any of these changes are unacceptable to you, VOTE DEM.” She cites abortion access restrictions as one of these “unacceptable” legal alterations to vote in opposition to.  It should be noted that she did this while identifying herself as a representative of CGM on her own facebook account.

On September 2, 2021, Mason called Texas abortion restrictions “a recipe for more clogged courts and assaults on women.”

On June 27, 2022, Moore expressed her disapproval of Montana’s abortion restrictions, stating they would make abortion access for the less wealthy more difficult.

Missoula Interfaith Coalition

As indicated above, MIC is the organization that “launched” Common Good Missoula, it shares the same location as CG Montana and CG Missoula, and Lisa Davey simultaneously held leadership roles in all three organizations simultaneously.  As such, what MIC posts is easily taken to represent CG Montana.

On 15 February 2024, MIC posted a job announcement encouraging LGBTQ+ individuals to apply.

On 1 June 2023, MIC wished a “happy pride month” to its “LGBTQ+ and two-spirit siblings.”

On 14 June 2023, MIC posted an ad for an LGBT Pride event that month.

On 3 September 2024, MIC posted a congratulatory note to Naomi Gerheim for her volunteer work on behalf of LGBT ideologies.

Conclusion:

This is a ton of information to unpack and there are a multitude of problems associated with Common Good Montana – the CCHD grant recipient being examined in this report.  In short, the problems are as follows:

  1. Common Good Montana – a 501 c3 tax-exempt organization – is completely indistinct from two other organizations: Common Good Missoula (a 501 c4 political organization) and Missoula Interfaith Coalition.
    1. All three organizations share the same physical address.
    2. CG Montana and CG Missoula share the same PO Box.
    3. All three organizations were led by the same woman – Lisa Davey.
    4. CG Montana’s board is made up by representatives of the members of CG Missoula.
  2. Common Good Montana’s CEO – Lisa Davey – is clearly pro-abortion and pro-LGBTQ+.
  3. Missoula Interfaith Coalition – which “launched” Common Good Missoula – is a long-time recipient of CCHD funds, suggesting that it was through MIC’s recommendation that CG Montana applied for and received a CCHD grant in 2026.
  4. CG Missoula is clearly pro-LGBTQ.
  5. MIC is likewise clearly pro-LGBTQ.
  6. CG Montana lost its tax exempt status in May of 2026 for failing to file its Form 990 for three consecutive years, raising important questions about what funds were raised, how the funds were used, and whether or not those funds intermingled with its sister political organization, CG Missoula.

The bottom line is that the CCHD has a moral and fiduciary responsibility to examine the financial status, the external operations, and make a personal site visit to organizations applying for CCHD funds.  Given the confusing relationship between these three organizations, and the obvious fact that CG Montana had not filed a Form 990 since 2022, it is obvious that either the CCHD did NOT perform the due diligence it claims to enact in vetting grant applicants, or the CCHD was fully aware of all of this, and simply didn’t care.

Whatever the case, this is yet one more example of the complicity CCHD shares in the moral rot of its grantees and the absolute ineptitude and/or unwillingness it has in the vetting process.
