The Association of US Catholic Priests (AUSCP) is holding its 2022 Annual Assembly in Baltimore MD, June 20-23. As reported earlier this week, the AUSCP bestowed two champions of the homosexualist movement with its highest award.
According to the AUSCP Assembly schedule, this year’s theme is “Let Us Dream: The Path to a Better Future.” Based on the above-mentioned awards and the scheduled slate of speakers, it appears that the AUSCP is dreaming of a decidedly homosexual and dissident path for the Catholic Church.
The first keynote speaker is Bishop John Stowe, OFM Conv. Bishop Stowe’s speech is titled “Fratelli Tutti: The Magisterium of Pope Francis and Its Challenge for the U. S. Church.” This is an interesting topic since he was present at the recent “secret” Chicago meeting titled “Pope Francis, Vatican II, and the Way Forward” that dealt with problems concerning faithful Catholics standing in opposition to the “magisterium of Pope Francis.”
Bishop Stowe’s support for the homosexualist movement is well documented.
In 2017, His Excellency attended and spoke at the condemned New Ways Ministry’s symposium titled “Justice and Mercy Shall Kiss.” According to the National Catholic Reporter, Bishop Stowe divorced the well-being of individuals and the Church’s doctrine and God’s commandments:
In reflecting on Matthew 12:1-14, the bishop told the LGBT assembly that in his reading of Christian morality, he finds the infinite value of the human person to be “the touchstone and foundation for determining the morality of a given act or issue. Christian morality is more concerned with the well-being and dignity of the person than with rules, norms or commandments. Jesus seems to teach this on many occasions,” Stowe said.
Bishop Stowe also:
- Is the “Episcopal Advisor” to the LGBT activist group Fortunate Families. Fortunate Families supports same-sex “marriage” and its “foundational Statement” attempts to excuse homosexual activity with an appeal to conscience.
- In 2021 Gave a “Pride Blessing” during a Dignity USA hosted event protesting the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith’s assertion that God “cannot bless sin.”
- Broke with his brother bishops who opposed the 2021 homosexualist Equality Act and supported the bill.
The second keynote speaker is Fr. Daniel Horan, OFM who was ordained in 2012 by then Cardinal McCarrick and has a long history of promoting the cause of homosexuality. Some examples:
- Fr Horan was overjoyed with the Supreme Court ruling legalizing same-sex “marriage”
- He also accused Bishops Burbidge and Joensen of making “transphobic statements”
- And sided with a Jesuit school that defied its archbishop by refusing to remove a teacher in a same-sex “marriage” in this 2019 Twitter post
The third keynote speaker is Mary Novak, executive director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice. NETWORK and Novak are both champions of progressive causes and homosexualism in particular. Novak assumed the role of executive director in April of 2021. Among her first acts as the head of NETWORK, Novak called on Congress to pass the “Every Child Deserves a Family Act,” which would force adoption agencies (including Catholic ones) to place children with homosexual or transgender couples. In a public statement, she said:
“My Catholic faith holds that family is sacred. Denying our LGBTQ+ neighbors, friends, and family members the ability to build loving families with children in our foster care system is unjust. NETWORK calls on Congress to listen to an overwhelming majority of voters, including people of faith, and pass the John Lewis Every Child Deserves a Family Act to protect the overwhelming number of LGBTQ+ children and children of color who currently reside in our foster care systems.”
Novak on June 18 tweeted her participation as director of NETWORK in this year’s Dignity USA pride blessing:
And on June 1 proclaimed “LGBTQ+ rights are Human Rights”

The AUSCP’s dream about the future of the Church is more like an apocalyptic nightmare based on the positions of the speakers it invited. We cannot allow this dissident fantasy to come to fruition.
Please contact your bishop and respectfully ask that he publicly condemn the AUSCP and forbid his priests from membership.
