Powerful Moms Who Care

Powerful Moms who Care (PMWC) is a project of the Crossroads Urban Center of Salt Lake City, UT.  For several years prior to the CCHD’s grant to PMWC, the grants went to Crossroads, itself.  And while PMWC does have its own tax ID, it is still a project of Crossroads.  Through our investigation of PMWC, we have discovered that Crossroads has a history of direct involvement in LGBT activism, while the leadership of both PMWC and Crossroads are firmly entrenched in LGBT ideologies.

The Catholic Campaign for Human Development has funded both the Crossroads Urban Center and PMWC since 2018.  Altogether, both organizations have collected $220,000 from the CCHD.

  1. 2018-2019: 25,000 (Crossroads)
  2. 2019-2020: 30,000 (Crossroads)
  3. 2020-2021: 35,000 (Crossroads-PMWC)
  4. 2021-2022: 35,000 (Crossroads)
  5. 2022-2023: 35,000 (PMWC)
  6. 2023-2024: 35,000  (PMWC)
  7. 2024-2025: 25,000 (PMWC)

The Crossroads Urban Center lists Powerful Moms who Care as once of its “political advocacy groups” on its website, indicating that the point of contact is Gracie Cunningham.

In 2022, Crossroads indicated that it was hiring a community organizer, further solidifying it as a project of Crossroads.

One of the first major red flags about this (both for the grants to Crossroads and for the grants to PMWC) is that Crossroads itself is an LGBT advocating organization.  For instance, on 6 June 2024, the Utah Stonewall Historical Society Archives directly identified Crossroads’ historic involvement in building the LGBT movement in the 1980s.

On 10 September 2025, Crossroads posted an image of a Pride banner declaring that “Love Lives Here.”

Additionally, Crossroads Urban Center operates a thrift store.

And the thrift store very openly promotes LGBT ideologies.  Here are a few examples:

29 May 2024

6 February 2024

31 May 2023

The Community Organizer for Powerful Moms who Care is Grace Cunningham.  According to her bio on linkedin, Cunningham – just prior to her employment by PMWC – was the founder of the pro-LGBT group called Salt Lake Equal Rights Movement (SLERM).

Gracie Cunningham has shown herself on social media to be stridently pro-abortion and an advocate for LGBT ideologies.

On 5 May 2022, Cunningham declared that she would move out of the country if Roe v. Wade was overturned.

That same day, Cunningham signaled that “forced pregnancy” is a “crime against humanity” while shouting that abortion bans are an issue.”

On 18 June 2021, Cunningham posted a Juneteenth poster that included rainbow and transgender symbolism embedded into the word “love.”

On 26 October 2020, Cunningham posted a picture of herself with a pride flag draped out of her car window.

On 27 June 2015, Cunningham celebrated Pride with a rainbow overlay on her profile picture.

On 3 September 2021, as president of SLERM, Cunningham posted this vile image to advertise an LGBT rally.

The admin for the PMWC facebook group is Jessica Rodman, an LGBT advocate who has been in a long-term lesbian relationship with another woman.

On 25 June 2024, Rodman posted a happy birthday message for Amy LeBaron, expressing thanks for “the life we’re building together.”

On 26 March and 24 June of 2013, Rodman posted the red equals sign, signaling support for same-sex “marriage.”

In 2021, Rodman published a white paper studying the structure of PMWC, in which she indicated that the members of PMWC come from a variety of background, including those who are homosexual and transgender:

“Members of PMWC are or have all been marginalized by economic structures, gendered social structures, and in many cases, by their race, sexual orientation, gender identity/expression, and the intersection of those identities.”

On 3 May 2023, a woman named Brianna Jackman indicated that she is a board member of PMWC on the KRCL radio program called Radioactive.  Mentioning Cunningham in the segment at 21:15 minutes into the program, Jackman said:

“They started talking about getting people from Powerful Moms to join the board, and I was like – you know what?  Why not?”

In 2023 and 2024, Jackman posted several pictures of herself with pro-LGBT overlays on her picture.

Conclusion

The long history of the Crossroads Urban Center supporting and advocating for sexual perversion is undeniable.  Throughout the 1980s, it was run by an active homosexual who permitted homosexual activists to meet, coordinate, and advocate from the Center itself.  Today, it is still very clearly involved with the LGBT community and advocacy.

The Crossroads Urban Center is the parent organization over Powerful Moms who Care – both of which have/are receiving funds from the CCHD.  PMWC is under the leadership of several women who are deeply committed to LGBT advocacy, and the Lead Community Organizer for PMWC is also openly pro-abortion.

Given this organization’s history in the LGBT movement, it should never have even been considered for a CCHD grant.  When considered along with it’s current involvement in the community, and the ideological disposition of its leadership, this stands as yet one more example as to why the CCHD should be shut down, permanently.
