On 11 February 2026, Archbishop John Wester of the Archdiocese of Santa Fe published a list of new assignments made throughout the archdiocese. Some of these assignments were made as distantly as August of 2025, while the most recent assignment went into effect two days after the publication of the memo. Last week, Elisa Martinez of the New Mexico Alliance for Life discovered that the Catholic Charities of Central New Mexico (CCASFNM) promoted a Planned Parenthood-sponsored event called the “Lavender Prom” as well as the Transgender Day of Visibility.
